Tribune Profit Doubles on Advertising Increase

Tribune Co., publisher of The Times and owner of 27 television stations, said second-quarter earnings doubled because of an increase in advertising at its newspapers and television stations.
Net income rose to $229.5 million, or 67 cents a share, from $114.2 million, or 33 cents, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 5% to $1.45 billion, the Chicago-based company said.
Tribune shares fell 35 cents to $46.65 on the NYSE.
