MOCA rearranges days off, hours

The Museum of Contemporary Art is changing its opening hours, beginning in September. The museum will be closed two days every week -- Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It’s currently closed only on Mondays.
A museum spokesman said the new hours are not intended as a cost-saving measure. Instead, they are designed to accommodate school groups on one day of the week -- Wednesday. About 366 school groups visit the downtown Los Angeles museum every year.
The opening hours of the museum also will change. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sundays. Thursday hours will continue to be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday and Friday remain at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
