Southland home prices, sales gain

Prices of Southern California homes and condominiums continued upward in June, with the median price rising to a new high, but sales rose modestly, according to DataQuick Information Systems.
The record $321,000 median sales price for detached homes and condos sold last month in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties was up 17.6% from a year ago. The number of sales rose 4.4% to 31,369.
