Boy, 10, Pinned Under Vehicle, Badly Injured

A 10-year-old boy was critically injured when he was pinned under a vehicle in a driveway, a city fire official said.
The child, whose name was not released, was taken by helicopter to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Bob Collis of the Los Angeles Fire Department said someone backing out of a driveway on Dearborn Street accidentally ran over the boy about 7 p.m., pinning him beneath an axle.
“We put air bags under there and pumped air into them and raised the car in about five minutes,” Collis said.
