Two Arrested After Pair Stabbed at Intersection

Two men were arrested Friday after an altercation at a Fountain Valley intersection in which two other men were stabbed.
Abel Billarreal Jr., 19, and Laith Faud Oweini, 18, both of Fountain Valley, were taken into custody about 4 p.m. and booked for assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly confronting two other men near the corner of Brookhust Street and Talbert Avenue.
The stabbing victims -- whose names were not released -- were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with wounds that were not considered life-threatening.
A knife was recovered at the scene of the crime, and the incident is under investigation, according to Lt. Kim Brown, a spokeswoman for the Fountain Valley Police Department.
