Now Valenti Will Dig In

Alas, it appears that The Times now favors the ban on Academy “screeners.” How else to explain your unleashing Lynda Obst’s witless blather of a plea to Jack Valenti (“Back Story of DVD Fracas: We Love Our Bags of Swag,” Opinion, Oct. 12)? Very clever. You know the old man can’t tolerate whiny A-list navel-gazing; now he’ll just dig in his heels even further. Oh, I had hopes for a reversal of the decision not to send out videos and DVDs, but not after this. I’m going to miss my screeners.
