From Times Wire Reports
A New Jersey couple faced charges of starving their four adopted sons, ages 9 to 19, authorities said.
Police called by neighbors discovered that the 19-year-old weighed 45 pounds. His adoptive siblings weighed as little as 23 pounds each. Parents Raymond and Vanessa Jackson said the boys suffered from eating disorders.
The state case worker who had been visiting the Jackson home in the Philadelphia suburb of Collingswood, N.J., resigned, and 10 managers and supervisors from the state Division of Youth and Family Services were suspended with pay.
