Van Sought in Probe of Bombing at Drug Firm
- Share via
An alert was issued for a brown van carrying two women and a man, spotted near pharmaceutical giant Chiron’s headquarters just before two bombs went off outside.
The California Highway Patrol said the FBI is asking law enforcement agencies to watch for a 1986 Dodge van with Oregon plates.
The van was seen near the building Thursday, just before the small devices blew up. Damage was minor and no injuries were reported.
An animal rights group calling itself the Revolutionary Cells and the Animal Liberation Brigade has claimed responsibility for the bombs. The group said it is targeting the company because of ties to Huntingdon Life Services, which tests drugs made by companies like Chiron on animals.
