THE HYPE
Timmy Chang, Hawaii, QB
Sitting out because of academic troubles -- as Chang did last week against Appalachian State -- isn’t the way to kick off a Heisman campaign. Therefore, it was important to make a statement against USC. It didn’t happen in a 61-32 loss as Chang was held in check in a 32-for-54 performance for 306 yards.
THE TYPE
David Greene, Georgia, QB
Although unspectacular to this point, Greene has completed 68% of his passes, thrown no interceptions and led the Bulldogs to impressive victories at Clemson and over South Carolina. Greene also has 678 yards passing and three touchdown passes.
