Emmys lure fewer viewers

An army of comedians and a poignant tribute to John Ritter by his friend Henry Winkler were not enough to give the 55th annual Emmy Awards an audience boost, according to Nielsen ratings released Monday.
Sunday’s ceremony, which was broadcast on Fox, attracted 17.7 million viewers, down from NBC’s telecast of the Emmys last year, which drew about 20 million.
