Waiting for Some Real News From Dodgers

Two headlines Wednesday exemplify what is so irritating about Dodger management. The first one touts the Giants’ signing of Armando Benitez, a premier free agent. The second announces that the Dodgers will be televised on Channel 9 after next season.
Every year, as all the top talent gets snatched up by their competitors, the Dodgers make TV deals and adjust their stadium seating to increase their income, and jettison players to other teams to “create salary space,” until only the Tyler Houstons are still on the market.
Get moving, DePodesta. The Giants just got better than you, and you know San Diego’s Kevin Towers will make some shrewd pickups too.

Dodger owner Frank McCourt said in a statement that joining KCAL would give the ballclub “innumerable opportunities” to promote the Dodgers to Los Angeles fans.
Some examples:
* Milton Bradley’s latest trial for disorderly conduct can be conducted on “People’s Court.”
* They can show highlights of the Dodgers winning the World Series on “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not.”
* McCourt and his wife Jamie and family can take on disgruntled Dodger fans on “Family Feud.”
