Paramount, City of L.A. Are in Negotiations

Paramount Pictures is in talks to settle a dispute involving $632,345 in business taxes Los Angeles city officials allege the studio owes related to merchandising and licensing.
The city sued the Viacom Inc. unit this week over the issue. A spokesman for City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo said the two sides were negotiating and were likely to resolve the matter soon.
A Paramount spokeswoman said the studio had not been served with the suit, and declined comment.
