18 Indicted in Probe of U.S.-Mexico Drug Ring

An investigation of drug distribution by a San Diego couple led to a nine-month undercover probe that resulted in federal indictments against 18 members of an alleged ring stretching from central Mexico to Colorado, officials said Thursday.
The operation began in May 2002, when law enforcement authorities began investigating Al and Sonia Lundy, who allegedly were dealing kilos of cocaine in San Diego County, said Mike Vigil, special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s San Diego office.
