Harvest the messenger

I was aghast at the tone Pete Thomas gave his Feb. 17 column (“A Girl, a Gun, a 12-Point Buck”). Amid his tasteless ploys for sympathy for a girl with a life-threatening disease, he inserts his pro-hunting argument. This is the most cynical and shameless thing I have ever read. By the way, this girl did not “harvest” a deer; she killed one.
