Rape Suspect Claimed Sex Was Consensual

A Navy enlisted man accused of raping an 18-year-old college student after kidnapping her at gunpoint from an Oxnard beach told detectives they had consensual sex, according to testimony at his preliminary hearing.
Lealon Johnson, 27, said he and the woman had met a week earlier, Det. Robin Whitney testified.
But Det. Sharon Giles testified that the woman said Johnson, a stranger, confronted her and a male companion at Kiddie Beach, then raped her in a public restroom.
