From Times Wire Reports
Prosecutors in Hamburg, Germany, sought the maximum 15-year sentence for an alleged helper of the Sept. 11 hijackers, discounting evidence that led judges to free him from custody pending a verdict.
Abdelghani Mzoudi, 31, was called a founding member of a Hamburg-based terrorist cell led by hijacker Mohamed Atta.
Prosecutors urged conviction on more than 3,000 counts of accessory to murder and membership in a terrorist organization.
Judges released Mzoudi last month after an informant said he did not know about the plot.
