What’s in a Name?

I was amused by “Asphalt Jungle or Green Meadow?” (Jan. 5), on neighborhood names.
Santa Fe Springs predates Green Meadows or Canterbury Knolls when it comes to incongruous monikers. Having grown up in Santa Fe Springs, I attended Lakeview Elementary School and Lake Center Junior High School (part of the Little Lake City School District). However, there is nary a spring in Santa Fe Springs nor any lake near either school.
