Brit Awards like Darkness

Retro rock group the Darkness received four nominations this week for the Brit Awards, the British version of the Grammys, which will be held Feb. 17 in London.

The Darkness is nominated for best British group, best British breakthrough, best British rock and best British album for “Permission to Land.”

Best pop nominees are Christina Aguilera, Daniel Bedingfield, Black Eyed Peas, Busted and Justin Timberlake.

Nominees for best international male are Timberlake, Beck, 50 Cent, Sean Paul and Damien Rice; best international female nominees are Aguilera, Beyonce, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys and Kylie Minogue.
