Diane Keaton will receive the AFI Star Award and playwright August Wilson will be given the Freedom of Speech Award at the 10th annual U.S. Comedy Arts Festival next month.
Keaton, winner of an Academy Award for best actress for 1977’s “Annie Hall,” has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her latest film, “Something’s Gotta Give.” Wilson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, wrote “Fences” and “The Piano Lesson,” which document the experience of black Americans.
The 10th annual comedy festival, sponsored by HBO, runs March 3 to 7.
