Miami Girl, 9, Killed While Parasailing

A 9-year-old Miami girl died when a cord broke on her parasail and she slammed into a hotel in Cancun, Quintana Roo state police said.
The girl’s father, Carlos Enrique Torres, filed a police complaint against four people involved in renting out the parasail. Mexican police said two of them had been detained for questioning.
Witnesses said the parasail was being towed by a boat when a line came free and the parasail with the girl aboard slammed into a third-floor balcony of the Crown Paradise hotel.
