No Call Has Been Made to Rename O.C. Airport
- Share via
I appreciate the views expressed on John Wayne Airport (letters, June 12), even those critical of me. As a clarification, I have made no proposal before the Board of Supervisors to change the name of John Wayne Airport, nor do I intend to do so. I did intend to share some ideas on giving the airport a stronger national identification with Orange County and to take advantage of our higher profile to promote Orange County as a singular tourist destination. This would be particularly beneficial for Buena Park, Anaheim and Fullerton’s historic downtown.
I regret that these comments caused some to fear a proposal has been made to change the name of the airport.
