Al Qaeda Suspect Dies in Custody

The alleged top Al Qaeda operative in Lebanon, who was captured this month, has died of a heart attack, hospital and security officials said.
Ismail Mohammed Khatib, in his early 50s, was caught along with about 10 other suspects. At the time, Lebanon’s top prosecutor said Khatib planned to bomb the Italian and Ukrainian embassies in Beirut simultaneously.
