Mattel Inc.’s chairman and chief executive, Robert A. Eckert, received $3.6 million in compensation for 2004, excluding stock options, compared with about $12.85 million in 2003.
The 2004 figure includes a salary of $1.25 million, a bonus of $984,344 and $1.23 million to cover taxes on a loan forgiven by the company in 2004, according to a regulatory filing.
Also, privately held MGA Entertainment said it filed a lawsuit accusing Mattel of unfair competition and intellectual property infringement. MGA said in a statement it was committed to protecting the value of its Bratz doll brand, but did not include details.
Representatives of Mattel and MGA were not available to comment.
