A small plane crashed off Florida’s Atlantic Coast, leaving at least one person dead, and the Coast Guard was searching for two missing passengers, authorities said.
The Cessna 195 took off from Jacksonville and crashed off St. Augustine in northeast Florida, Coast Guard Petty Officer Donnie Brzuska said.
The cause was under investigation; the pilot had reported a problem.
Missing were pilot Gary Tillman, 43, and daughter Hanna, 16, both of Rome, Ga., said sheriff’s Sgt. Charles Mulligan.
Anna Kipp, 16, of Rome died at a hospital, he said. Rachel Hestetler, 16, was rescued.
