Re “Texas GOP Trying to Gut Ethics Inquiry, Critics Say,” Feb. 11: When legislators can rewrite laws to block investigations and to shield themselves from prosecution, as they did in the House of Representatives and now as they are doing in the Texas Legislature, can the national socialistic state be far behind? It too boasted of a rule of law.
