Police were searching for information Sunday in the hit-and-run death of an 85-year-old man near his home in Granada Hills, authorities said.
Ralph Blackwood was walking on White Oak Avenue just south of Ludlow Street at 1:30 a.m. Saturday when a red vehicle traveling north struck him, said Officer Kristi Sandoval of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The vehicle then fled, she said. Paramedics pronounced Blackwood dead at the scene of massive trauma.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at (818) 756-8391.
