MTV and VH1 will air a shared, eight-hour feed from the Live 8 concerts on July 2, beginning at 9 a.m., and will hopscotch among the five all-star shows being staged across the globe.
The shows feature artists such as U2, Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Jay-Z, Tim McGraw and Sheryl Crow and are geared toward publicizing the campaign for debt relief in Africa.
MTV channels in foreign markets will have coverage as well, bringing the potential audience total to 1 billion, according to MTV officials.
XM Satellite Radio and AOLmusic.com will offer even more comprehensive coverage, with fans able to access concerts live from Philadelphia, London, Paris, Berlin and Rome.
