Out there in Alaska

A nursing mother is usually appropriately discreet. But this bear wasn’t feeling shy when Nicole Burik found her in July at the Katmai National Park on the Alaska Peninsula. Burik and her husband, Ferdinand Arcinue, flew into the park on a five-hour bear tour of Hallo Bay (www.hallobay.com). “We were so close we could hear the baby purring while she was nursing,” said Burik, who used an HP Photosmart 935 to capture the moment.
