Delta Air Lines Inc. said that a strike by its pilots would be a “murder-suicide” and in effect put the carrier out of business.
The comments by Atlanta-based Delta came two days before a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in New York will hold a hearing to discuss Delta’s request to reject its pilots’ collective bargaining agreement.
The Air Line Pilots Assn., which represents Delta’s 6,000 pilots, has scheduled a rally today to defend the contract.
