Fox to Offer Its Films Online Via Movielink

20th Century Fox agreed to distribute its films online via Movielink, giving the joint venture owned by five Hollywood studios access to the movies from all major studios for the first time.
The deal comes as studios and TV networks are looking at alternative methods of distribution, including video on demand and devices such as Apple Computer Inc.’s iPod.
News Corp.’s Fox has offered some of its content online at sites such as CinemaNow.com, but it waited until more homes had high-speed Internet access and could view downloaded movies on large-screen TVs before signing a deal with Movielink.
