Culinary trek to the Central Coast
- Share via
“I recently took the three-day getaway to the Central California coast offered by Culinary Trails. This is a new culinary vacation led by chef Lori Zappas. We toured a cheese-making operation, an organic farm, several wineries and then would reconvene at the beautiful ranch house where we were staying and Lori would lead us through class using the ingredients we had learned about in the day’s travels. Scenic surroundings.”
The cost of $1,195 per person includes cooking classes, wine tours, meals and lodging. Culinary Trails, 31442 Holly Drive, Laguna Beach, CA 92651; (949) 637-8253, www.culinarytrails.com.

Canada: B&B;
“I highly recommend this B&B;, a restored Victorian home in the heart of St. John’s. It has the feel and privacy of a small European hotel but the warmth of a B&B.; Your stay includes wonderful breakfasts and lovely rooms or suites, all with private baths. Your hostess, a native Newfoundlander, is eager to recommend sights in her wonderful island.”
Double rooms from $85. Bonne Esperance House, 20 Gower St., St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada; (888) 726-3835, www.bonneesperancehouse.ca.
