Update -- The Kings have not beaten San Jose since Feb. 17, 2003. The Sharks, picked as one of the top teams in the conference, have struggled, in part because they have played eight of their first 10 games on the road. San Jose was already without top goalie Evgeni Nabokov because of what team officials called “upper-body soreness.” The Sharks then lost his replacement, Vesa Toskala, to a groin injury Saturday.
