Twellman Has Three Goals for Revolution

Taylor Twellman scored three goals and the Eastern Conference-leading New England Revolution defeated the Columbus Crew, 3-1, Saturday night at Foxborough, Mass.
Twellman scored twice in the first half -- in the sixth and 39th minutes -- and scored his Major League Soccer-best 14th goal in the 63rd minute.
New England (15-5-6), winners of five of six, improved to 9-1-3 at home and has a franchise-best 51 points. Columbus (9-13-3) had a three-game winning streak end.
Matt Reis, bidding for his ninth shutout this season, was denied in the 86th minute when Frank Hejduk scored off of a header on a cross from Simon Elliott.

MetroStars 1, Kansas City 0 -- Eddie Gaven scored on a long shot in the 44th minute to lift the MetroStars to a victory at Kansas City, Mo. Tony Meola had six saves for the MetroStars (9-7-10) in his return to Kansas City after being released by the Wizards (11-7-9) in the off-season.
D.C. United 2, FC Dallas 1 -- Facundo Erpen scored his first MLS goal and Santino Quaranta scored the second goal for United (13-9-5) late in the game at Frisco, Texas, before Ramon Nunez scored for Dallas (10-9-6).
