A Trip Down Westchester’s Memory Lane
I truly appreciated the essay by Colette LaBouff Atkinson (“You Are Here,” Aug. 28). I grew up in Westchester between 1945 and 1957, and her father’s recollections of those times are similar to my own. I, too, had a paper route. And I have fond memories of getting on the little bus and going to a matinee at the 5th Avenue or the Academy. Westchester will always remain a special place for me. I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in what was then a small-town atmosphere, but with sufficient amenities to stimulate a youngster’s curiosity. Thank you for reminding me to take a few more nostalgic laps around my own very special memory lane.
