Jim Farley, the former Scion brand manager who has headed Toyota-brand advertising for the last year, has been promoted to vice president for marketing and planning of Toyota Motor Corp.’s U.S. sales operation in Torrance.
Farley, 44, will oversee planning, merchandising, sales promotions and U.S. Internet activities for the Toyota and Scion brands, the company said. He also will be more involved in policy decisions as a corporate officer of Toyota Motor Sales USA. He will continue to report to Jim Lentz, executive vice president for U.S. sales.
Toyota is expanding its production and engineering activities in North America and is moving to increase management autonomy here as well.
