Four family members who died in the crash of a small plane were identified Friday by the Contra Costa County coroner.
The single-engine, six-seat Piper Malibu crashed Thursday on state Highway 4 near Buchanan Field Airport about 11 a.m. during a landing approach in rainy weather.
Killed were the plane’s owner and pilot, John Frank Mauricio, 78; his wife, Alice Mauricio, 73; his 45-year-old daughter, Alyce Mauricio Dreher; and his 12-year-old grandson, Robert Dreher, according to the coroner.
The adults died on impact, and the boy died during surgery at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
