20 Held on Suspicion of Aiding Al Qaeda in Iraq

Spain arrested 20 people suspected of recruiting Islamist fighters to go to Iraq, and said one of the recruits had killed 19 Italians in a suicide bombing in Iraq in 2003.
Police arrested 15 Moroccans, three Spaniards, a Turk and an Algerian. The Madrid cell supplied fighters to the network of Abu Musab Zarqawi, Al Qaeda’s leader in Iraq, the Interior Ministry said. The ministry said the Barcelona-area cell was responsible for the bombing that killed the Italians.
