Amgen to Invest in Ireland Facilities

Amgen Inc., a Thousand Oaks-based biotechnology giant, said it planned to invest more than $1 billion in a set of facilities in Cork, Ireland, that would employ more than 1,100 people by 2010.
Amgen also plans to expand its existing research and development operations in Cambridge, Mass., San Francisco, Seattle and Cambridge, England, and to build a development center in Uxbridge, England.
