Politician to Stand Trial for Pro-Nazi Remarks

Far-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen has been ordered to stand trial for reportedly denying the brutality of the Nazi occupation of France during World War II, judicial officials said.
Le Pen faces accusations of “justifying war crimes” and “complicity in contesting crimes against humanity,” the French officials said.
In a 2005 interview with the newspaper Rivarol, he was quoted as saying the occupation “was not particularly inhuman.”
