Supervisors Waive Some Fees for Fire Victims
- Share via
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday waived debris removal and permit fees until June 2009 for residents whose homes were damaged or destroyed in this month’s Sawtooth and Millard complex fires.
The program, whose $750,000 cost could be partly reimbursed by the state, is modeled after fee waivers the county approved for victims of the 2003 Old and Grand Prix fires. The board also extended that program through October 2008 and expanded it to include some homeowners choosing to rebuild elsewhere.
In addition, supervisors voted to spend $500,000 to add 16 seasonal firefighters at 10 stations.
