‘Grinch’ heading to Broadway

The musical adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ holiday tale “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” that has been a holiday staple at the Old Globe in San Diego will make its Broadway debut this fall at the Hilton Theatre. Previews of the show begin Oct. 25.
Audrey Geisel, the widow of Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Geisel, will serve as an associate producer of the New York “Grinch” show. Geisel died in 1991.
The “Grinch” musical is directed by Matt August, whose credits include “Sixteen Wounded” and “Baby Taj.” Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien is the show’s production creator and supervisor.
