DreamWorks advisor leaving

From a Times staff writer

In the wake of DreamWorks’ sale to Paramount, Andy Spahn, the longtime in-house political and charitable advisor to David Geffen, Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, is leaving to form his own company.

He will remain one of the town’s most powerful, if low-profile, political forces, because Spielberg, Katzenberg and DreamWorks Animation will be among his clients. Andy Spahn & Associates will specialize in “a range of personal and corporate affairs services with a focus on strategic philanthropy, government and public relations.”

Spahn had been head of corporate affairs at DreamWorks since 1996.
