Derek Fisher seems like a class act and one can only wish for a full recovery for his ill daughter. As a player, he may even have a couple of decent seasons left in him if Phil Jackson carefully monitors his minutes.
But this is basically a sentimental signing that does nothing to make the Lakers relevant on a going-forward basis.
