Robert Krakoff, 72; president, CEO of Nielsen Business Media

Robert Krakoff, 72, president and chief executive of Nielsen Business Media, died Thursday night at his home in Boston, the company announced, without specifying the cause.
Krakoff joined Nielsen in August and oversaw the business publications Billboard, Hollywood Reporter and Adweek, as well as other publications and websites.
He had been chairman and chief executive at Blantyre Partners, a media consulting and investment firm, and Advanstar, a business media communications company.
He worked for Reed Elsevier, parent company of Variety, for 23 years and rose to vice chairman.
Krakoff also sat on the board of Irvine-based Freedom Communications Inc., which publishes the Orange County Register.
He had a bachelor’s degree in business from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s from Harvard Business School.
