* at San Diego 3, Milwaukee 0: Jake Peavy held the Brewers to two hits in seven innings and hit a run-scoring double off Jeff Suppan to lead the Padres to a three-game sweep. Adrian Gonzalez hit a home run for San Diego, which has won 10 of 13 games. Peavy (7-1) lowered his major league-leading earned-run average from 1.63 to 1.47.
* at Arizona 8, Houston 4: Carlos Quentin hit a two-run home run at Phoenix and the Diamondbacks completed a four-game sweep. The Astros have been outscored, 66-16, while losing eight games in a row.
* Philadelphia 13, at Atlanta 6: Ryan Howard went three for four with a pair of two-run homers, Greg Dobbs had another two-run shot and the Phillies earned their first three-game sweep of the season. The Braves have lost 10 of 14.
* New York 6, at Florida 4: The Mets improved to a major-league best 18-7 on the road by completing a three-game sweep at Miami. David Wright had two hits and an RBI and Carlos Beltran walked and scored twice for New York.
* Pittsburgh 14, at Cincinnati 10: Jason Bay capped a five-run first inning with a three-run homer, Freddy Sanchez drove in a season-high four runs and the Pirates overcame five home runs by the Reds. Kirk Saarloos (0-4) failed to retire any of the seven batters he faced.
* Washington 7, at St. Louis 2: Ronnie Belliard had four hits, including a two-run homer, and the Nationals took two of three for their first series win over the Cardinals since 1999, when the Washington franchise was in Montreal.
* Colorado 6, at San Francisco 4 (10 innings): The Rockies have won five in a row for the first time since July 2-6, 2004.
* at Dodgers 2, Chicago 1 (11 innings): Cubs reliever Carlos Marmol hit Juan Pierre with the bases loaded in the 11th.
