Linkin Park to headline KROQ Christmas show

Linkin Park will headline the first night of the Almost Acoustic Christmas show, the annual KROQ-FM (106.7) holiday concert franchise that began 17 years ago.
The Dec. 8 show at Gibson Amphitheatre will be announced officially this morning on the channel’s “Kevin & Bean” morning show, and a second night is expected to be announced later. An on-sale date is pending.
The first night looks like a heavy dose of familiar Southern California bands: There’s Linkin Park from Agoura Hills; Angels & Airwaves from San Diego (and led by Tom DeLonge, formerly of Blink-182); Avenged Sevenfold from Huntington Beach; and Bad Religion, the seminal Los Angeles punk band, which has a long history with Acoustic Christmas -- they headlined back in 1993 and 1994 and returned for the 2001 edition.
Also expected on the first-night bill: Paramore, Rise Against and Serj Tankian, the frontman of System of a Down. The station’s website is www.kroq.com.
