* Philadelphia 10, at New York 6: Greg Dobbs had a pinch-hit grand slam and the Phillies beat the Mets for the eighth straight time. The Phillies pulled within 3 1/2 games of first-place New York and won 12 of 18 against the Mets this season. Carlos Beltran hit a tying, three-run homer for New York, which committed six errors. It was the most errors by the Mets since they had six on Sept. 13, 2002, at Montreal.
* at Colorado 13, Florida 0: Todd Helton hit his 300th home run, Chris Iannetta also had a three-run shot and the Rockies avoided being swept at home for the first time this year.
* Chicago 4, at St. Louis 2: Matt Murton hit a three-run homer, and Jason Marquis allowed his former team only one run while pitching into the seventh inning. The loss was the 10th in 11 games for St. Louis.
* at Houston 15, Pittsburgh 3: Josh Anderson had a career-high five hits and drove in three runs, and the Astros piled up a season-high 22 hits.
* Atlanta 3, at Washington 0: Tim Hudson (16-8) pitched a seven-hitter and needed only 100 pitches for his 10th career shutout and 21st complete game.
* at Milwaukee 5, Cincinnati 2: Carlos Villanueva pitched seven scoreless innings and Joe Dillon drove in a career-high four runs for the Brewers (76-72), who have won 10 of 15 and surpassed their win total from last year.
* at San Diego 5, San Francisco 1: Kevin Kouzmanoff had three hits and an RBI for the Padres, who maintained their 1 1/2 -game lead in the wild-card race.
* Arizona 6, at Dodgers 1: Edgar Gonzalez won his seventh straight decision and Chris Snyder hit a three-run homer for the Diamondbacks.
