Village People on Walk of Fame

The 1970s disco group Village People, whose hit song “YMCA” helped turn the costumed singers into pop music icons, will receive a star on the Walk of Fame -- near Hollywood’s actual YMCA.
Group members will appear in their signature outfits -- depicting a police officer, an Indian chief, a soldier, a construction worker, a cowboy and a biker -- for the Sept. 12 unveiling ceremony, leaders of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said Wednesday.
