Mater Dei rallies to win

After giving up three touchdowns in the first 4 1/2 minutes of the game, Santa Ana Mater Dei turned to its running game and pulled away to defeat Los Angeles Jordan, 49-32, Thursday night at Santa Ana Stadium.
Jaron Hytche scored four touchdowns and Jordan Allen had two touchdowns for Mater Dei (3-1).
Jordan (1-3), playing its third consecutive top-25 opponent, opened a 20-0 lead and was ahead, 32-27, with 9:54 left in the third quarter. DeShawn Beck caught two touchdowns and returned an interception 75 yards for another score.
Mater Dei intercepted three passes by James Boyd in the third quarter. Mater Dei’s Matt Barkley had two passes intercepted, giving him nine in four games.
Boyd set a state record for most pass attempts. He finished 36 for 73 for 409 yards and three touchdowns and four interceptions.
