Executives, learn from your flops

Re: “Taking heat for summer of flops,” Aug. 17:
The article on the decisions that have led to NBC Universal’s “summer of flops” spoke volumes, particularly the executive quotes. It would have made a great scene for AMC’s show “Mad Men.”
For example, studio President Ron Meyer said: “It’s easy to second-guess ourselves, but 90% of our decisions were the right ones with the wrong results.” Excuse me?
In the military community there is something known as an AAR, an After Action Review. This is followed by an addendum: Lessons Learned. Maybe NBC Universal could hire a military technical consultant to assist these executives in their time of need.
